Pullman Bakery

I have fallen in love with Pullman Bakery after watching "Baker King" (K-drama) two years ago. Though the male and female leads are not the super good-looking type, I really enjoyed this drama. Hee, I could smell the fragrance of the bread in the air while watching it, can you believe it?

Pullman Bakery (originated in Hokkaido) offers a variety and unique types of bread and pastries. My personal favourites are Bacon & Egg, Croissant, Hokkaido Milk Bread, Melon Chocolate Chip Bread and Butter Sugar Bread.

I hope there's a nice bakery like Pullman Bakery at our new office location.

Pink Ribbon

Can you spot the pink ribbon on my iPhone? Hee, I bought it while shopping for a iPhone case for my sister. It's really cute!

My 'Jesus Loves Me' stationery holder

I made this stationery holder at Clay-Street.com during a team-bonding activity with my department in 2010. It was really fun (but not as easy as I thought) to create something unique and personal from a lump of clay. Whenever I look at this clay holder (still sitting nicely on my office desk), it will remind me of my Heavenly Potter.

But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. ~Isaiah 64:8

May my Heavenly Potter continue to mould me into the woman of God that He has called me to. Amen.

Textiles Major Bag

This bag (my third item from ModCloth) has finally arrived from the US! Though it is bigger than I have expected, I love it! :)

Cupcakes

I have not been buying Twelve Cupcakes for months as there was no craving...till today! I bought a box of six and I ate FOUR (raspberry choc, cookies & cream, red velvet and nutella)! Yummy!

Daddy God, I pray that I will have no desire for sweet treats like cupcakes and donuts after these four cupcakes! Amen!

Online Shopping

As a working mother of two, I find it hard to shop leisurely in the malls. Recently, I have been shopping online more often.

I chanced upon this local online shop, My Glamour Place that sells pretty and reasonably-priced clothes. I bought two dresses and a blouse online but sad to say, one of the dresses and the blouse don't look good on me (they look very good on the model though)! Sigh, I had to give the two pieces away (see photo below). Well, it gave me the opportunity to remind myself that it's more blessed to give than to receive!

ModCloth (retro, indie, and vintage-inspired clothing styles) is an online shop based in US. They have a huge selection at their site! I really like their dresses so I bought two dresses under the $50 range. I received the dresses in a box last week. They look nice but I don't feel very comfortable in them. The pink dress is a bit low cut and the black dress has rather big armpit holes. I will still wear them with a tube underneath.

After several attempts of online shopping, I still very much prefer local shops where I can try the clothes, look at myself in the mirror and feel the comfort level before deciding if I should buy. Yes, I am giving up on online shopping for clothes now.

Shopping in Hong Kong

We have finally made a return to Hong Kong in June and I managed to do some shopping this time. L'OCCITANE products are cheaper in HK so I bought a shea butter lip balm stick (my girls have been using it too!) and a lip shine. Both products are pretty good!

Err...I spent quite some time at H&M central (leaving my girls with my poor husband) and I only managed to get two items from the ladies' section! But my husband picked HK$100 while waiting for me so it was kind of a little blessing to him. Ha! We spent it at Honolulu Coffee Shop right after we left H&M!

If you have read my earlier post, I have a favourite pair of  wedges which I bought it from HK. I was looking forward to visit this shop but I couldn't find a similar design. In the end, I picked two pairs of black wedges (buy-1-get-1-free). A little disappointed cos my old pair is so comfortable and easy to put on/take off. These new pairs need more effort because of the hooks. Well, thank God for new shoes anyway!

Read more about our HK trip here. :)

The Icing Room

I really like the concept of DIY cake decoration at The Icing Room. Kudos to the creator of this idea! The cakes are available in 3 sizes (4", 6" & 8") and 2 flavours (vanilla & blackforest). The vanilla- flavoured cakes are nicer in my opinion.

Thus far, I have bought a couple of DIY cakes from them and sent Sarabelle to their Junior Chef Workshops thrice. The two most memorable DIY cakes were the Mother's Day cake and my hubby's birthday cake.

Love them to bits! Looking forward to decorate more cakes in time to come. :)

Thankful

It was a day off for me yesterday (off-in-lieu of Vesak Day). Seriously, I did nothing much cos I wasn't feeling well over the weekend and almost lost my voice on Sunday. I managed to catch a few episodes of the popular but rather old K-drama 'Dong Yi'. In the afternoon, Sarabelle and her daddy went to watch The Avengers while I headed to Clementi Mall to ran some errands. I had a coffee break at the over-crowded Toast Box but still very thankful for the long weekend. Praise Jesus I am totally healed today! :)

Salad Stop!

I had this for lunch from Salad Stop! one afternoon. It was yummy and healthy but also quite pricey. It costs almost twice the amount of a bowl of noodles or a plate of rice from the food court. Sigh...why can't salads be more affordable?

Cafe Americano

Strangely, I have started to drink black coffee recently. My first cup was Seattle's Best Coffee from Burger King and I was surprised that it actually tasted good! The aroma of black coffee is also very much nicer than Mocha or the rest.

I believe if a cup of coffee or anything can perk you up in the midst of busyness and or tiredness, it's worth spending the money and effort to get it. :)

Made with Love

This ring was handmade with love by my husband (boyfriend then) when he proposed to me more than 10 years ago. I would love to have it in pink but apparently, blue is his favourite colour. Anyway, it is quite amazing that I could still fit into this ring but not my wedding ring!

P/S: He did buy a real white gold proposal ring later.

Barney's Musical Castle - Live on Stage

My husband received an email that we have won three tickets worth $213 to watch Barney's Musical Castle! Praise Jesus for yet another tangible fruit of the year (more to come, amen!)! When I told Sarabelle, she wasn't interested at all cos according to her, "Barney is for little kids"...that's true! I brought her to watch Barney in 2008 when she was 4 years+. Megan is quite excited about it though. :)

Heart-shaped Egg

This heart-shaped egg is so cute and lovely! Found it in my mum's packet of fried rice from the western food stall near our place. My husband and I were quite amused by this egg but ate it nonetheless! Ha!

The One and Only

I have a one and only cross necklace which I bought more than 14 years ago. Ironically, it was bought with my two schoolmates who are non-believers. When we walked into Goldheart at Wisma Atria one day, I asked the staff to show me their collection of cross pendants and told them my budget of $200. The staff showed me this necklace and I love it when I first laid my eyes on it. It is a very nice cross with a tiny diamond in the middle, exactly the type I was looking for!

A few years later, this necklace was broken while I was handling a child with special needs. I was a teacher then. Though I was really upset, I did not get it fix but kept it somewhere. Recently, I found this necklace while I was tidying some stuff. It certainly brought back sweet memories. I hope I will get it fix one day so I can wear it again or pass it down to one of my daughters. :)

Strawberry Tart

To sweeten my day, I bought a freshly baked strawberry tart from Han's for tea. Initially, I wanted to get my favourite peach tart at $1.40 but sad to say, it was out of stock. This strawberry tart was 'waving' at me frantically and it costs exactly the amount I had in my pocket ($4) then. Thankfully, my trip was not wasted. God is good, all the time!

By the way, I didn't gobble up the tart. I brought it home to share with my precious girls. :)

Home-cooked Meals

We have been eating out most of the time after we sent our domestic helper home one year ago. Recently, we started to cook again over the weekends cos we are sick of eating out. Though we both dread washing the dishes, we would still want to make an effort to prepare more home-cooked meals in the coming days.

By the way, I know my pasta was not very nutritious with the hot dogs and ham but at least, there was broccoli!

The Shoe Affair

This pair of shoes was bought during our vacation in Hong Kong almost two years ago. It has been my favourite pair ever since. I could wear them and stand for long hours without feeling any discomfort!

A pair of good shoes is essential! I am looking forward to visit Hong Kong again and hopefully, I can grab at least two pairs from this shop! ;p

A Day Off

I took a day off to accompany Megan to her school outing this morning. I am thankful for the good weather and glad that Megan was rather well-behaved. My 'parent duty' ended when we returned to her school at 2.15pm. Though sweaty and tired, I felt good that my presence has made a difference to my little girl's day.

Anyway, I had lunch at 3pm - delicious but not-so-healthy maggi goreng from Seah Im Food Centre. I even had time to do some shopping and visited the dentist before I picked little Megan in the evening. :) I love off days on weekdays!

A Pleasant Surprise

Today, I was blessed with a bowl of mee siam from Maxwell Market and a cup of homemade soya bean milk. The mee siam was ok but the soya bean milk was very sweet. The lunch came as a pleasant surprise from a colleague whom I am not even close with. It's like God whispering to me that He loves me in the midst of all the busyness this morning. He is ever so sweet! :)

Cotton On

After registering the girls at Sunday School, I went shopping at Cotton On as I had around 30 mins to spare. Honestly, I seldom shop at Cotton On but I felt prompted to take a look. In the end, I bought four causal tops at $55 (desperately needed them cos I still cannot fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes!). Apparently, there was a promotion and it would be ending today. I received a $30 gift voucher for spending a minimum of $50! Such a good deal, isn't it? Thank God for putting me at the right place and at the right time! :)

Badminton

Last month, my husband and I finally took out our Wilson badminton rackets from the storeroom after many years. We had to change the grip tapes on the handles before we could use them again. Thankfully, we had them easily replaced at Queensway Shopping Centre for merely $6+ (for both rackets). To date, we have played badminton twice. I must say it's a good start to a more active lifestyle. We should move more and eat less! :p

Ultimately, I know health does not come by exercising and having a healthy diet. My family and I will walk in divine health cos Jesus has paid for it on the cross. By His stripes, we are healed! Amen!

Disney On Ice

I took part in a contest by Mother & Baby magazine and I received a sms today that I have won four tickets worth $236. Praise the Lord! :) Our last Disney On Ice was in 2008 (before Megan was born)! I am sure the girls and I will enjoy the show come March 2012. Praise Jesus for my first tangible fruit of the year!

Twelve Cupcakes

Recently, I have a craving for cupcakes! Twelve Cupcakes is my favorite at the moment cos their cupcakes are petite and moist, very yummy! The shop is located at Millenia Walk, very near my office . Even my mom likes the cupcakes and gobbled up 4 of them!

A Christmas Present

This wallet was a Christmas present from my hubby last year. Though I don't really like the design, I am thankful for a loving husband who likes to give me surprises. I guess God made us different in many ways. He likes surprises and I am more down-to-earth. I prefer to choose something I really like.

This wallet is still nicely wrapped in the box. I promise I will use it one day.

Milk & Honey

I have never imagined myself starting another blog but I am glad I did. This blog is dedicated to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I intend to capture little moments of my life as a beloved child of God and not so much on my two precious princesses. If you would like to read about my princesses, please visit my other blog.

I titled this blog 'Milk & Honey' cos the name is cute and it will remind me that we are in the land flowing with milk & honey, a land of abundance. Thank God that He found me in Novemeber 1997 and my life has never been the same again...
